Blind

Channeling all my energy to all that matters in my world

Drowning in gallons of guilt

Painted with layers of shame

Climbing out or digging in

The confusion is overwhelming

I am so loved. I am so kind.

Why, then, the depths of infinite nothingness

Looking in the mirror brings prayer for the blind

Engenuity covers me; shadows cover the false

Such a shiny object and oblivious to all

Brittle as ice, painful as empty ecstasy

Step forward again

Today is yesterday

I pray tomorrow won’t be today
